Optometrist
Dr. Cayden Carpenter is an Arizona native who grew up in Queen Creek, AZ, hiking the San Tan Mountains, boating on Saguaro Lake, and attending Queen Creek High School. Leaving the Valley, Dr. Carpenter served a two-year mission in Brazil, studied Neuroscience at Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah, and attended Midwestern University’s Arizona College of Optometry in Glendale, AZ. Dr. Carpenter completed clinical internships at Petelin Vision in Scottsdale, the Eye Foundation in Salt Lake, and Focus Eye Centers in St. George, with focuses on ocular disease and surgical co-management, glaucoma, pediatrics, and primary eye care.

Dr. Carpenter is passionate about helping his patients see their best through every stage of life and whatever their visual demands. He enjoys fitting specialty contact lenses such as sclerals, managing chronic eye diseases like dry eye, and teaching kids and parents about myopia control options.
Dr. Cayden Carpenter is excited to be back in the East Valley near his hometown, where he lives with his wife and three kids. On a day off, you might find Dr. Carpenter smoking some barbecue, heading to the lake, or spending time with his kids.

Dr. Carpenter is a Chandler native. He attended elementary school in Chandler and graduated from Gilbert High School after his family moved to Gilbert. Dr. Carpenter attended Brigham Young University on an academic scholarship and earned his Doctor of Optometry degree from Southern California in 2000 with honors.

Upon graduation he joined the practice of D. Lynn Jones, O.D. who had been practicing in Chandler since 1970. Together they formed Chandler Eyecare in 2000, and since that time Dr. Carpenter has gone on to open Seville Eye Center in Gilbert and most recently Pecan Creek Eyecare in San Tan Valley. Together with his colleagues, he continues to offer friendly, state-of-the-art eye-care to residents of Chandler, Gilbert, Queen Creek and neighboring communities. Dr. Carpenter and his wife Amy raised their family of 5 children in Queen Creek. They love to spend time with his family, which now includes 4 grandchildren, and enjoy boating together, serving in their church, sports, and music. Dr. Carpenter is currently serving on the AZ State Board of Optometry.

Dr. Giles grew up in Birmingham, Alabama. Occasionally, you may even hear him say y’all. His wife, Stacey, is a Tempe native and brought him west to enjoy the Arizona sunsets. Dr. Giles attended Brigham Young University for his undergraduate degree. He received his Doctor of Optometry degree at the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Optometry in 2000.

After practicing optometry in the Huntsville, Alabama area until 2003, Dr. Giles joined the U.S. Air Force to serve his country. He has performed eye examinations in the mountains of Honduras, in Costa Rica, and within the Arctic Circle in Alaska.
He moved to Gilbert with his wife and four children in the fall of 2010. He enjoys the outdoors in general and loves to run. He is also fluent in Spanish and is happy to give eye examinations in Spanish if desired.
